OUR APPROACH TO
GRANT-MAKING
Greenwood Place provides grant-making support and management to a range of philanthropic clients. For some of our clients, we take on execution of the whole process - sourcing grantees, carrying out full due diligence, grant management, reporting, renewals and exit strategies. For others, we offer advice in these areas enabling the client to adopt and adapt our approach as they see fit.
Regardless of the type of service we offer, our approach and values remain the same. We strive to balance thorough analysis for our clients with support and respect for grantee partners - as potential partners that means valuing your expertise and time.
We believe that the due diligence and grant management process should be useful for all involved irrespective of the funding given - helping us and grantees to learn without taking too much resource away from NGOs’ work on the ground.

Greenwood Place is committed to open and transparent funding and we are working with the 360Giving Initiative to publish grants data on behalf of those of our clients where we fully manage their foundations. You can download an Excel spreadsheet giving details of grants made since 2017 here. This data will be updated every twelve months. This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. This means that the data is freely accessible to anyone to be used and shared as they wish. The data must be attributed to Greenwood Place.
