  • We are issue-agnostic, and the charities we work with are guided by our clients’ interests and values. At Greenwood Place, we help families and foundations identify the most impactful opportunities for meaningful change, empowering them to shape their philanthropic journey rather than dictating the path. 

  • No - Greenwood Place specialises in helping you understand the right path for your giving journey - providing everything you need from governance support to strategy guidance so you can begin confidently as well as effectively. We support families looking to establish charitable foundations, existing foundations, individual philanthropists, corporate teams and anyone in between. 

  • The bespoke nature of Greenwood Place’s services means we can accommodate any and all foundation structures. We can support you with light-touch support, such as strategy and research, to medium-range support, including some grant management, process support and advising existing staff, to complete executive support, where we would take on all of the foundation's operations and grant management. 

  • We are not accountants, auditors, lawyers, or financial managers. Though many of our team have backgrounds in these areas, Greenwood Place can only advise on the best way to navigate them. Our expertise lies in foundation management and strategic advice. Learn more about our services here.

  • Greenwood Place’s clients fall into two categories: Advisory and Managed. Advisory clients typically require lighter-touch support and guidance but are still part of the Greenwood Place community with access to research, learning and development opportunities. This package is available at a fixed annual fee. For our Managed clients, we undertake grant-making responsibilities and administration for some or all of the Foundation’s giving. Fees for Managed clients range depending on the number and size of grants managed. 

  • No, Greenwood Place is a company. Our work is enabled by the fees we charge for our services helping donors manage their philanthropy more effectively and impactfully. 

  • No, our services only cover strategic philanthropy advice, grant-making and foundation administration. We have no financial oversight or responsibility for the foundations we manage. 

  • Each of our clients is a proactive funder with a distinct strategic focus. We actively reach out to charities on behalf of our clients and conduct due diligence on their behalf. We do not accept unsolicited applications and we do not have the capacity to respond to all funding requests.

  • Greenwood Place works to provide the highest possible quality of service every day and so any complaint we receive would be taken very seriously.
